Reflections from the 2021-2022 Arrowhead Team

First place award at District 4 NSAC competition

The Arrowhead Advertising team competed in the District 4 National Student Advertising Competition April 22 and placed first for their sponsoring client, Meta Quest. As this year’s project comes to a close, we asked the team to think back and share their memorable experiences from this extraordinary school year.

What was your favorite memory from Arrowhead this year?

My favorite memory from Arrowhead was when we were able to submit our plans book and digital/creative assets to the competition. Our year-long efforts had come to an end, but we had all worked so diligently and tirelessly to build this campaign and grow as students and professionals. It was all worth it, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat with this amazing group. – Abby Cloud

Did Arrowhead help you find your place in the advertising industry?

It definitely showed me that while I love creative and making art, I also love making the decisions behind the scenes. It helped me decide that I wanted to seek out a strategy position for my internship this summer.          – Maria Chencinski

What is something you walked away with from Arrowhead that you didn’t expect to?

Twenty-one best friends! Working together all year long truly brought us together as a team. Late nights in the lab, early mornings on Zoom, I would love to know how many hours we spent working together over the course of this year. We also made a conscious effort to bond outside of work hours. We often got together to celebrate holidays (Halloween, Valentine’s, etc.) The District Competition in Orlando was super exciting because we came in the first place, but we had a genuinely great time hanging out together and exploring Orlando. – Tara White

What role did you hold on the team?

I’ve been on the non-trad research team and the book team, and now I’m starting a digital strategy position. These things might not seem related, but the experience on Arrowhead tells me that there’s a lot more in common between these roles than one might expect.                         – Axel Lagergren

In three words, how would you describe being on the Arrowhead team, to an outsider?

Refreshing. Fun. Eye-opening. – Naomi Lopez

The team worked tirelessly throughout this year-long project and took with them a plethora of skill sets and experiences that will offer continued value in their future endeavors. Arrowhead Advertising would not be the award-winning program that it is without this talented team. Wishing all Arrowhead graduates the best of luck in their budding careers as young, advertising professionals. Stay tuned until the Fall of 2022 as we welcome new and returning members of the team, as well as a client reveal for next year’s NSAC competition!
