Arrowhead Advertising Founding

Arrowhead Advertising was founded in the late 1980s by Professor Barry Solomon. By the mid-’90s, the program evolved into a dedicated, for-credit competitive course within the FSU School of Communication.
The move to the College of Communication and Information’s laboratory at FSU Stadium provided the team with a professional agency environment. It was here that students officially branded the team Arrowhead Advertising—a name that remains a source of inspiration for Florida State’s top advertising talent today.
Mentorship & Program Leadership

The program’s success is built on a foundation of faculty mentorship. Following Professor Solomon's retirement, Dr. Jaejin Lee directed the team’s 2019 Adobe campaign. Kelly Kelly, Ph.D. joined the School of Communication faculty in 2020 and has directed the team since, bringing an integrated marketing communications (IMC) focus to the lab.
In addition to guiding the NSAC course, Dr. Kelly serves as the Faculty Advisor to the FSU Advertising Club, the university’s official collegiate chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF).
