The AAF Introduces 2023 NSAC Client: Indeed!

The big news is out! The American Advertising Federation has announced Indeed, the world’s #1 job search site, as the 2023 National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) sponsor. Every fall semester, NSAC pairs up with a real client that offers an immersive agency experience to more than 2,000 aspiring advertising professionals. Students are tasked with researching the client while building out an integrated campaign that will be pitched to a panel of judges in the spring.

Florida State University’s competition team, Arrowhead Advertising, has been competing in the NSAC since the ‘80s and has become a multi-award-winning program run by a tight-knit team of undergraduate students.

“Having Indeed as our client this year is really interesting,” 2023 Arrowhead Team Captain Maria Chencinski said. “Since we are mostly seniors about to go into the workforce, it is cool to see a client that so directly relates to our own lives. In a way, it is almost like finding out the best ways for us to maneuver the next steps through our work!”

Arrowhead Advertising has already hit the ground running with a myriad of applied research and strategy development meetings. Much like Chensinski expressed, Indeed is an exciting company to tackle with this year’s competition, as it fits seamlessly into these students’ everyday lives. The team has the opportunity to reflect inwardly when creating a campaign for the target audience because, in many ways, they are the target audience!

The 2023 team faculty advisors are Lauren Horner, graduate teaching assistant and master’s student in the School of Communication, and Dr. Kelly Kelly, teaching faculty with the School of Communication at FSU.

About NSAC

The National Student Advertising Competition is the premier college advertising competition that provides more than 2,000 college students with real-world experience in creating a strategic advertising/marketing/media campaign for a corporate client. The client provides an assignment or case study outlining the information about their product, along with the marketing opportunity or primary challenge.

The AAF is divided into 15  geographic regions, and based on their school location, student teams first compete at the district level in person or virtually. The winning team(s) from each district then advances to the semi-finals, where NSAC teams compete for one of eight spots at the finals.
